A gas leak at a Rugby Avenue construction site forced the evacuation of one building and the closure of the road on Wednesday afternoon.
MCFRS units responded at about 3:35 p.m. to the leak, which occurred at 4836 Rugby Ave., the construction site of The Gallery apartment project.
According to scanner traffic, a crew poured concrete on a gas line, which caused the leak. An office building on the block has been evacuated, though it is believed most of the gas is being leaked outside.
First responders have been instructed to move people upwind from the leak.
