Capitals extend agreement with AHL’s Hershey Bears

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — The Washington Capitals will keep the AHL’s Hershey Bears as their top minor league affiliate for 2014-15, the teams’ 10th consecutive season together.

The Capitals announced Tuesday that they’re extending their agreement with the Bears.

Hershey has qualified for the AHL playoffs in eight of the last nine seasons, winning three Calder Cups in that span.

A total of 17 players appeared in games for both Washington and Hershey last season.
