WASHINGTON – Tickets to Washington Capitals games go on sale this week as the team gears up for its regular season opener on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Jan. 19.

The Capitals’ home opener at Verizon Center is three days later against the Winnipeg Jets on Jan. 22.

Single-game tickets start selling Tuesday at 2 p.m. They can be bought at WashingtonCaps.com, the Verizon Center, the Kettler Capitals Iceplex and at all local Ticketmaster outlets. They can also be bought over the phone at 202-397- SEAT.

The Capitals organization will also begin paying back convenience fees for individual tickets purchased for games missed because of the lockout, but they won’t cover processing and delivery fees.

The team’s 48-game schedule includes an afternoon game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Capitals finish the season with a three-game homestand. The finale is April 27 against the Boston Bruins.
