Diamondbacks promote Jake Lamb from Reno

PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks promoted third baseman Jake Lamb from Triple-A Reno on Thursday and designated infielder Andy Marte for assignment.

The 23-year-old Lamb hit .327 with 39 doubles, 15 home runs and 84 RBIs in 108 games with Double-A Mobile and Reno this season. In 244 games in three seasons in the minors, the former University of Washington player has hit .321 with 83 doubles, 37 home runs and 193 RBIs.

The 30-year-old Marte hit .188 with a homer and three RBIs in six games for Arizona this year.
