ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A task force is outlining how much it would cost Anne Arundel County schools to create later school start times.
The Capital (http://bit.ly/1vYdVoo ) reports the first option presented Wednesday would have high schools start at 8:30 a.m., middle schools at 9:30 a.m. and elementary schools between 7:50 and 9:15 a.m. Additional bus routes would cost $8.9 million.
The second option would push high schools to 9:15 a.m., middle schools between 8:20 and 8:30 a.m. and elementary schools between 7:40 and 9:15 a.m. It would cost $9.4 million.
A third option would push all schools 30 minutes later than their current times. It would cost $600,000.
The final option would shift all schools back 30 minutes and create a late-start hybrid option for high school students. It would cost $9.6 million.
