Police investigating Wheaton Metro sexual assault

WASHINGTON — A woman was sexually assaulted in the Wheaton Metro parking garage Monday night and police are looking to the public for help.

Around 9 p.m. on Dec. 8, a 33-year-old woman was opening her vehicle door when a man, described as black and in his teens, approached her with a gun. He told her to follow him and perform a sex act. The woman refused and he fled.

The woman then left the parking garage and called police.

The suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt.

The Metro Transit Police Department and the Montgomery County Police Department are working together on this investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 240-773-5050.
