WASHINGTON – A hypothermia alert is in effect Tuesday, and temperatures are
frigid across the region. There are shelters and resources
available for anyone who is at risk of hypothermia.
D.C.
The District calls a hypothermia alert when the temperature drops below 32
degrees. Hypothermia shelters open on nights when an alert is in effect.
Seasonal shelters are also open on the first night of a hypothermia alert, and
every night through March 31, 2014.
