WASHINGTON — A 26-year-old Prince George’s County police officer sustained serious injuries after he was struck by a minivan in Forestville, Maryland, Thursday morning, police say.
The officer, Bashua Olaseha, was trapped under the minivan for several minutes, and several officers assisted the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS responders in moving the van, according to a report from the Prince George’s County Police Department.

The incident closed Pennsylvania Avenue in both directions at Walters Lane. Pennsylvania Avenue completely reopened just before 1 p.m.
