Md. man found dead in Va.’s Opequon Creek

FREDERICK, Va. (AP) — Frederick County officials say a man has been found dead in his car in Opequon Creek after he apparently tried calling 911 to report his car was filling with water.

Officials in Frederick County say they received a call Friday from officials in West Virginia’s Jefferson County. The Jefferson County officials said they had just received a 911 call from an unknown person who said his call was filling with water and sinking.

The call was disconnected before West Virginia officials could get more details, but information from the 911 call suggested it was coming from the 1600 block of Old Charlestown Road near Opequon Creek.

Officials who went out to search found nothing. Officials searched again Saturday and found a car with 23-year-old Bryan Sears of Middletown deceased inside.
