Man sentenced to 25 years in slaying

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A Pasadena man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in the killing of a man over a drug debt.

Twenty-five-year-old Tremain Calhoun Jr. had entered an Alford plea to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. He was sentenced Wednesday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court.

Prosecutors say 28-year-old Erica Banks had asked Calhoun to beat up 26-year-old Darren Bell on Jan. 27, 2013.

Authorities say Erica Banks’ father, 48-year-old Eric Banks, showed up, and shot and stabbed Bell.

Erica and Eric Banks were both sentenced to 30 years in prison in the crime.
