Police probe two fatal shootings in Prince George’s County

WASHINGTON – Police are investigating two fatal shootings in Prince George’s County, including one in which someone warming up a car Friday morning spotted the victim’s body lying on the ground.

In the first incident, police found 20-year-old Nafee Curtis Smith suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the 1600 block of Addison Road South in District Heights.

Smith, 20, lived in the 1900 block of the same street. He was found at about 11:55 p.m. Thursday and died later at a hospital.

Police say it appears Smith was walking alone on Addison Road South when someone shot him. They are working to uncover a motive and suspect, and say a cash reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.

In the second incident, police say a resident warming up a vehicle in the 3100 block of Bellbrook Court in Temple Hills saw a man lying on the ground and called 911 Friday morning. Police responded at about 7:30 a.m., and the man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police identified the man as Adrian Delonzo Roundtree, 27, of the 4600 hundred block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Southwest D.C.

Detectives were canvassing the area Friday. Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call police at 301-772-4925. Those who want to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS or text “PGPD” plus a message to 274637.
