Dan Snyder photo leads to Photoshop frenzy

WASHINGTON – A photo posted by the Washington Redskins Twitter account of owner Dan Snyder modeling his new Kevin Durant sneakers has gained a life of its own on the Internet.

The Redskins tweeted the picture of Snyder giving the “thumbs up” and pointing to the new kicks on Wednesday evening.

It didn’t take long for a Photoshop frenzy to spawn. By Thursday morning, a post on the sports site Deadspin shared a cutout of the Snyder photo, making it easier for people to manipulate.

By Friday morning, Deadspin collected and shared more than 200 newly adapted photos of Snyder. Most of the recreations depicted Snyder causing harm to Native Americans — likely a commentary on the team’s nickname controversy and Snyder’s unwillingness to budge on the name “Redskins.”

Others showed Snyder “twerking” alongside Miley Cyrus, Snyder as “The Karate Kid,” Snyder riffing on an electric guitar and Snyder walking behind The Beatles in their famous Abbey Road album cover.
