WASHINGTON - A University of Virginia student died in D.C. Saturday night.

Mary Shelley Goldsmith, a second year University of Virginia student, died at a D.C. hospital, according to a university email to students. She was in town visiting friends, the email says.

Authorities have not said what led to her death or the location.
