WASHINGTON - A Fairfax County homeowner's surveillance camera captured a mob of partygoers punching and kicking a young man repeatedly, and police were working to gather information about the victim and suspects involved.
The surveillance footage shows a group of what appears to be teens and young men in their 20s pummeling and kicking the victim in a Springfield, Va., neighborhood just off Braddock Road Monday night, according to ABC 7.
Jack Webb installed the camera outside his home in the 5200 block of Inverchapel Road about two months ago after thieves broke into his vehicle, ABC 7 reports.
Instead of a break-in, the camera captured the attack as a group of young men and young women stood by watching, some with drinks in their hands and some videotaping the attack.

The fight awoke Webb, who called 911. After the brutal beating, the victim managed, with help, to get up and walk away.
"I was sick to my stomach," neighbor Sean Moka tells ABC 7. "It's the utter disregard for life. One wrong blow and these kids could be facing a homicide charge."
"Nobody deserves anything like this," Moka says.
Initially, officials couldn't locate the victim. But late Wednesdays night Fairfax County Police were able to identify him, ABC 7 reports. Police wouldn't provide more information on whether he sought medical care.
Fairfax County police went door-to-door trying to find witnesses, but found none.
Next door to where the attack occurred, a Bishop Ireton High School student had hosted a party. The student tells ABC 7 those in the mob had not been invited, but learned of the party through social media.
Webb says police told him that unless the victim is willing to press charges, there wouldn't be too much else police could do.
