WASHINGTON - Two homes in Silver Spring were burglarized this week, and Montgomery County Police believe the same man may be behind both of them.

Surveillance video from Dec. 19 shows a man walking up to a home in the 9500 block of McAlpine Road. He knocks on the door, and after getting no answer, video shows the man kicking it down and going inside.

Shortly after breaking in, the man runs back out of the home with property in his hands before entering a green SUV.

Later the same day, a man with the same description forced open the door to another home in the 10000 block of Brunett Avenue.

Home video surveillance showed a man going up to the home, knocking on the door, and kicking in the door when he did not get a response.

Again, video showed the man leaving in a green SUV.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, around 160 pounds, about 25 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with facial hair that includes a mustache and goatee.

Anyone who may have information about these burglaries or recognizes the suspect from the surveillance video is asked to call the Silver Spring Investigative Section at 301-565-7740.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.

Below are two surveillance videos that captured the burglary that occurred on Burnett Avenue in Silver Spring:
