WASHINGTON -- Monday's Washington Wizards victory was the team's first second- round playoff win in 32 years, and the team is now making history with tickets sales, too.

"The demand for the tickets has been nothing like we've seen in this market in a long, long time. D.C. is a basketball community, and our fans are speaking loudly and they want to be a part of it and we're really happy to have them on board," says Jim Van Stone, who oversees the Wizards' ticket sales.

Van Stone is the chief revenue officer at Monumental Sports and Entertainment.

"We expect fully to be over 10,000 full season ticket-holders for next year," he says.

That would be unprecedented in the history of the Wizards at Verizon Center, which seats 20,000.

He says more than 90 percent of current season ticket-holders have renewed for next season, and they've sold nearly 2,000 new full-season tickets.

"We have season tickets in the upper level that start as low as $16 per game, so [they are] really affordable. We actually offer a great payment plan -- a monthly payment program that allows you to pay for your tickets on a monthly basis."

Buying season tickets now for next season guarantees you access to buy tickets to this season's remaining home playoff games.

"You have the opportunity to participate in our 'Pay As We Play' program, so after each round, based on the games played that round, we charge you for the games. ...

"Try your best to be a part of it," Van Stone says. "There is nothing like the experience of seeing it live and in-person."
