WASHINGTON — “Trolling” is generally an Internet term, but the concept has often leaked into the real world. And if you don’t know what trolling is — well, it’s this.
The St. Louis Rams easily beat the Redskins, 24-0, at FedExField on Sunday, but in one way Washington got bested before the game even began.
The Rams, as Redskins fans no doubt remember with a wince, are the team to whom Washington traded a passel of draft picks in 2012 for the pick with which they got quarterback Robert Griffin III, who was coming off a Heisman Trophy-winning college season — and who was benched a couple of weeks ago.
The Rams turned those picks into six important players — Janoris Jenkins, Michael Brockers, Zac Stacy, Stedman Bailey, Greg Robinson and Alec Ogletree — and, as NFL.com reports, coach Jeff Fisher sent those six players out for Sunday’s coin toss.
The true beauty of the move? The Redskins, as evidenced by their Vine account, didn’t even realize it:
But hey — Griffin made it into the game Sunday. He even, um, completed three passes … oh, never mind. Well played, Jeff Fisher.
