57 percent increase for some Redskins ticket holders

Friday - 2/8/2013, 12:35pm  ET

WASHINGTON - Whatever the team's name, one fact remains: A winning football team means pricier tickets.

The Washington Redskins recently announced a season ticket price increase but said most seats wouldn't go up more than 10 percent. It was the first increase in seven years, the organization says.

Later, The Washington Post reports the team acknowledged some prime spots would see a 40 percent hike.

And now, the Post says due to a previous price freeze no longer in effect for some customers, some actually are seeing a 57 percent hike.

A team spokesman tells the Post about 800 ticket accounts are affected by the elimination of the price freeze and its accompanying lower prices.
