Raiders claim DE Mayowa off waivers

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Raiders have claimed defensive end Benson Mayowa off waivers from the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.

Oakland waived linebacker Kaelin Burnett with a knee injury Sunday to make room on the 53-man roster for Mayowa.

Mayowa originally joined the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Idaho in May 2013. He played in the first two games for Seattle last season, collecting two tackles. He was inactive for the remaining 14 regular season and three postseason contests.

Mayowa had three solo tackles, including two behind the line of scrimmage, for the Seahawks against the Raiders in the final exhibition game last Thursday.
