BALTIMORE (AP) — The president of Johns Hopkins University says the college should have warned students, faculty and staff after an alleged sexual assault at a fraternity house last year.
Ronald J. Daniels said in a statement Thursday that the university’s failure to issue a timely warning after the alleged assault at the Pi Kappa Alpha house in March 2013 “is unacceptable.”
Hopkins is among a number of schools under federal investigation for their handling of sexual assault complaints.
Daniels says after an independent assessment, university officials concluded that the incident should have been recorded in the school’s daily crime log.
Daniels say officials are determined that this kind of mistake won’t happen again.
