White House responds to critics with photo of Obama shooting rifle

WASHINGTON – The White House has released a photo of President Barack Obama skeet shooting, following criticism that there was no photographic evidence to support the President’s recent interview in the New Republic.

Obama told the magazine that he frequently goes skeet shooting at Camp David.

Critics questioned why there were no photos of the President shooting a gun, even though he said he does it frequently. When questioned about the lack of photos during a White House briefing, spokesman Jay Carney said “Because when he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs.”

The photo was released on the White House’s official Flickr account Saturday morning, Aug. 24.
