WASHINGTON — A New York plastic surgeon is getting attention for a new
technology that would give women what some are calling “vacation breasts.”
Dr. Norman Rowe, who practices in Manhattan, says the procedure would
make enhancements that would last two to three weeks, presumably when people
are
relaxing on a beach or at a wedding.
Rowe is in talks with the Food and Drug Administration about the procedure,
which he thinks will be available in about two years, ABC News reports.
He’s already developed what the “insta breast,” a saline injection that gives
the impression of implants, but it only lasts 24 hours.
The idea is that women can get a sense of what it’s like to live with
implants.
Dr. Jennifer Ashton, ABC News‘ senior medical
contributor, says the concept carries risks, including hematomas, infection
and
complications related to an injection.
