WASHINGTON — A 9-year-old North Carolina boy is being told by his school he can’t wear his My Little Pony backpack to school because it’s a trigger for bullying.
WLOS in North Carolina reports kids called Grayson Bruce names because, according to them, the bag was for girls.
My Little Pony is a kids cartoon show about ponies.
Grayson tells WLOS, “most of the characters in the show are girls, and most of the people put it toward girls, most of the toys are girlie.”
“They’re taking it a little too far, with punching me, pushing me down, calling me horrible names, stuff that really shouldn’t happen.”
The school told Bruce to leave the bag home. Noreen Bruce, Grayson’s mom, think it’s unfair.
There’s now a Change.org petition asking the school to change it’s mind.
