Woman, 21, seriously injured in Fairfax County hit-and-run

WASHINGTON – Fairfax County police are asking for help finding a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 21-year-old woman.

Police say the woman was walking along the southbound side of Gambrill Road near Vogels Way in Springfield, Va., at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday when she was struck from behind by the unidentified vehicle, which then fled the scene.

The woman was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the incident, vehicle or driver involved is asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS, or police at 703-691-2131.
