WASHINGTON - Ysmaille Castor says he has always wanted to know what it felt like to win $1 million.

Now he does.

Castor bought a winning Mega Millions ticket with five correct numbers in the Jan. 17 drawing - which earned him a million-dollar check.

"I feel good. Even if it's not in my bank account yet, I feel good," says Castor, who lives in Waldorf, Md. He bought the ticket at Westlake Liquors store on Smallwood Drive, and went with the quick-pick method.

Castor is a 12-year bus driver for Metro, although he hasn't been to work since last November due to a shoulder injury that required surgery.

He says he's looking forward to getting back on the job. But when he does, overtime shifts won't be in his working future.

"Yeah, I'm going to work less now, only Monday through Friday," Castor says.

The married father of four took the lump sum, which will net him $662,500 after taxes. And he has big plans for his winnings.

"I'm going to put some towards my kids' education, put some towards my mortgage, and pay my car off," Castor says.

The Haitian-American still has family living in Haiti. He says his new-found riches will also allow him to send aid to family members there who are still reeling after the deadly 7.0 earthquake that leveled his homeland in 2010.

This is also not Castor's first foray into the land of big money winnings. He says last December he won $5,400 playing the Virginia Lottery.
