WASHINGTON — Detectives say they’ve located the person they say seriously injured a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash last week in Fairfax County.
Police say alcohol and distracted driving were factors in the crash.
A 21-year-old woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after she was hit by a car from behind shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27. She was walking down the southbound side of Gambrill Road near Vogels Way when it happened, according to a Fairfax County news release.
The driver of the car fled the scene and police asked for the public’s help in locating the suspect.
On Monday, Fairfax County Police Department said a suspect has been identified and the investigation remains open.
