30 bands, two stages
WTOP's Tim Bracken reports.
During the past 20 years, the festival has seen a steady increase in notoriety and attendance. According to the official website, tens of thousands of music fans are expected throughout this year's three-day run.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Pavilion Stage will feature contemporary jazz and adult contemporary while the Soul Stage will feature classic and alternative soul. Although one of the headliners, Chaka Khan, has canceled her performance due to doctor's orders, there are plenty of other national acts to satisfy concertgoers.
The lineup includes:

- Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds
- Marcus Miller
- Kim Waters
- Ronny Jordan

The after-party will feature live jazz from Fo/Mo/Deep and old school R&B from DJ Claude.
