WASHINGTON - The eyes may be windows to the soul, but a quick check-up and they can tell doctors a lot about overall health.
Doctors say eyes can reveal major warning signs of heart disease.
Small yellow patches around eyes, for example, are really cholesterol deposits -- never a good thing.
A white ring around the pupils also is a sign of cholesterol build-up.
If the blood vessels in the whites of eyes are an odd shape or color, a doctor is likely to look more closely for indications of diabetes or high blood pressure.
