WTOP Announces Week of Giving Holiday Charity Campaign

WTOP will Raise Donations for Local Charities Nov. 8 through 12

Washington, D.C. (November 1, 2021) – WTOP has officially announced the launch of its Week of Giving holiday charity campaign Monday, Nov. 8 through 12 at 5 p.m. in partnership with EagleBank and 4Giving, a platform that helps non-profits, organizations & individuals quickly create and inspire moments of generosity through community fundraising. Donations made during the Week of Giving campaign will automatically enter the donor for the chance to win a private VIP tour of the WTOP newsroom.

The Week of Giving holiday charity campaign seeks to raise fundraising dollars through WTOP’s Live Local page, a digital charity marketplace supporting amazing organizations making an impact locally right here in the DMV. WTOP’s goal with this campaign is to help as many people in D.C., Maryland and Virginia as they can through partnerships with local charities working directly in the community, providing resources to those who need it most.

“We know the holidays can be tough for many in our region and our hope is that during the Week of Giving our community will utilize the WTOP Live Local campaign as their local charity marketplace to make donations to local causes near and dear to their hearts,” said WTOP General Manager, Joel Oxley. “All donations help give back to trusted local charity partners whose work supports and empowers the diverse community in which we live, making a difference in the lives of our neighbors and yours.”

The WTOP Live Local campaign website serves as a portal where members of the community can donate directly to charities supported by WTOP during the Week of Giving or anytime throughout the year.

“We’re thankful to be helping local charities collect donations of all sizes that support the DMV community,” said 4giving CEO, Joe Sriver. “It encourages me and my team when we witness thoughtful donors choosing to assist their neighbors through difficult times.”
