Help Fund Face Shields Montgomery County COVID-19

You can help Alicia & Hobie Cohen support local hospitals!

With the shortage of protective equipment for hospital doctors and staff, Alicia and Hobie Cohen decided that they wanted to do something to help. Alicia and Hobie are a husband and wife team working on creating and assembling face shields using 3D printed components from their home 3D printer. A doctor in the Holy Cross Hospital system in Maryland (which includes Holy Cross Hospital – Silver Spring and Holy Cross Hospital – Germantown) confirmed the need for 2,650 face shields. Credit for the face shield design goes to Budmen Industries for making their design available to the public.  The same doctor approved the design and materials for Alicia and Hobie’s design.

In order to make enough face shields for the Holy Cross Hospitals, the Cohens need your help to fund their mission. They hope to be able to raise enough support financially to be able to donate face shields to completely meet the need of the Holy Cross Hospitals.  They are also hoping to connect with other people who have personal 3D printers to come alongside them in their pursuit. They have already partnered with another local maker to help with printing.

They are also communicating with face shield manufacturers regarding being able to purchase face shields outright to donate to the hospitals so that the hospitals can receive supplies faster than the timeline for their (now) three-printer operation allows.

Should the Cohens’ exceed their goal with Holy Cross, they will expand to as many hospitals as they can.

They wish you health, safety, and peace during this time and thank you for any support that you’re able to provide.
