WASHINGTON — Never let it be said “Sesame Street” doesn’t know what’s up.
Fresh off a Big Bird-fueled parody of the Oscar-winning film “Birdman,” the PBS children’s show has released a parody of “House of Cards” in advance of the release of Season 3 of the Netflix hit. Entitled “House of Bricks,” the “Sesame Street” video details “Frank Underwolf” laying waste to two of the Three Little Pigs’ houses before getting his comeuppance.
It’s got all the trademarks: Southern-drawling speeches to the audience, text messages and ruthless ambition, along with basic subtraction for the kids, and side jokes about official Washington to keep the parents involved. (Actually, since there’s probably not a whole lot of overlap between the “Sesame Street” and “House of Cards” audiences, it’s far to wonder whom this is really for.)
