WASHINGTON — In a few brief moments, a political science professor — and his kids — gained viral immortality during a failed BBC interview.
Robert Kelly is a political science professor at Pusan National University and an expert in East Asia international relations. So it was only natural that the good folks at the BBC turned to him Friday for some insight on the very serious impeachment scandal in South Korea.
And it was during those few brief moments on air that Kelly gained viral immortality. Or maybe it was his kids who really gained it.
During that very serious interview, a very upbeat toddler strutted/waddled into the webcam’s shot.
As Kelly struggled to maintain his focus (and his gravitas) by successfully stiff-arming the child away, an even younger child in a stroller bulldozed into the shot, followed by a panicked woman, who dragged them both away.
Their screen time was over, and they could be heard loudly protesting in the background.
But their viral fame endures.
Video of the instant-classic interview fail (above) has gone viral and no doubt will bring a new wave of memes in the days ahead.
