WASHINGTON — A Virginia teen is recounting a horrific morning during which he says a man abducted him, made him drink an unidentified liquid and forced him into the trunk of the driver’s car. But investigators said the teen got into the car willingly.
Just after 2 a.m. Wednesday, Prince William County Police said, an 18-year-old was walking home from a friend’s house in Manassas when the driver of a red Toyota 4-door sedan pulled up.
“The driver asked if he needed a ride and the victim accepted. Once inside the vehicle, things get a little odd,” said department spokesman Jonathan Perok. “The driver pulls out a knife and forces the victim to drink an unknown liquid. At that point, they drive to another area of Manassas, where the victim is forced into the trunk area of the vehicle. He alleges he remained there for several hours.”
Eventually, the victim told police, he was let out in Centreville, and saw the driver had picked up a second man, whom he could not describe in detail to police.
“They take the victim’s cellphone before he’s able to run away and flag down some help at a nearby residence,” Perok said.
Fairfax County Police responded to the initial call; however, given the location of the crimes, Prince William County investigators are now working to find the suspect and a motive. The teen is unhurt. According to police, whatever he was forced to consume does not appear to have affected him.
Investigators said they do not believe the teen was abducted at random.
The suspect was described as a middle-aged Hispanic man standing 5-foot-9 who has a scar on his upper lip.
