WASHINGTON — A 19-year-old Woodbridge man charged with the murders of two youth counselors confessed to killing the women and told investigators he intended to rape them, according to charging documents.
Ronald F. Dorsey Jr. was arrested Friday after police found the remains of Ericka J. Hickson near Dorsey’s apartment. He told Prince William County police that he killed Hickson and another at-risk youth counselor, Lizeth Lopez, who worked for the same private residential program, according to court documents.
Dorsey was enrolled in the private youth program where the two women worked. YouthQuest Independent Living, which helps young adults ages 17 to 21, often who have left the foster care system, learn to become self-sufficient and to live on their own.
Dorsey also told investigators he assaulted both women with the intent to rape them, forcibly holding them both for more than 20 minutes before he killed them, according to documents filed with the Prince William County Circuit Court.
Dorsey admitted to transporting the bodies to a wooded area near the women’s workplace and concealing their remains, the documents say.
“Ms. Lopez was found dead in April and Ms. Hickson was reported missing last Friday and found dead later that day,” said Prince William Police Sgt. Jonathan Perok.
Dorsey knew Hickson, 37, and Lopez, 36, through the women’s work at YouthQuest Independent Living, police said. The program helps young adults ages 17 to 21, often who have left the foster care system, learn to become self-sufficient and to live on their own.
Detectives interviewed Dorsey after Lopez was killed in April but could not name him as a person of interest at the time, Perok said.
“We wanted to give the community and Ms. Lopez’s family closure. We are both happy and sad we were able to make an arrest in the case,” he said.
Dorsey was being held without bond at the Prince William County jail on Monday. His next court date is set for October.
