WASHINGTON — A Prince William County substitute teacher who had been on the job for a month was arrested Friday on drug charges.
Wesley F. Fountain, 21, of Woodbridge, had marijuana and what investigators believe was cocaine on him when police stopped a car he was in on Golansky Boulevard early Friday morning, according to Prince William County police.
Police found more cocaine when Fountain was searched a second time, police say.
He was charged with possession with intent to distribute a narcotic, possession of a narcotic and possession of marijuana.
Prince William County Public Schools spokeswoman Irene Cromer says that Fountain was hired as a substitute teacher on April 27. He worked in various schools on eight different occasions since then.
He was been removed from active employment, Cromer says.
His next court date is set for July 17.
