The Week on the Hill: Aug. 2, 2019

Democratic presidential candidates battered each other during the debates in Detroit and are now busy preparing for the next round. At the White House, President Trump has moved past his initial pick to become the next director of national intelligence. And lawmakers have now left Washington for the August recess, after the Senate passed a sweeping, two-year budget plan. WTOP’s Mitchell Miller takes a look at the busy summer.
