WASHINGTON — The controversy over the Redskins nickname isn’t isolated to around here.
It’s also dividing Lancaster, New York, where the high school teams are nicknamed Redskins.
More than 100 people packed the school cafeteria in the Buffalo suburb Tuesday night to debate changing the name.
Lancaster Central High School’s teams have used the Redskins nickname since 1953.
School officials will consider a name change, but have no set timetable for a decision, The New York Times reports.
