The Oakland, California-based company said it had net income of $1.29 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.39 per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.43 per share.
The consumer products maker posted revenue of $1.67 billion in the period, beating Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.63 billion.
Clorox expects full-year earnings in the range of $5.95 to $6.30 per share.
