The Blue Bell, Pennsylvania-based company said it had profit of 12 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 27 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 32 cents per share.
The investment company posted revenue of $702.8 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $721.7 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $56 million, or 13 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $2.67 billion.
BrightView expects full-year revenue in the range of $2.67 billion to $2.73 billion.
BrightView shares have dropped 26% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $11.81, a decline of 25% in the last 12 months.
