The Irvine, California-based company said it had a loss of 97 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense and non-recurring costs, came to 80 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 65 cents per share.
The a manufacturer of motor vehicles and passenger cars posted revenue of $1.3 billion in the period, topping Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.26 billion.
