On a per-share basis, the Austin, Texas-based company said it had a loss of 74 cents.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 60 cents per share.
The genetic testing company posted revenue of $546.6 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $472.6 million.
Natera expects full-year revenue in the range of $2.02 billion to $2.1 billion.
