WHAT’S AT STAKE?
Boston College jumped into the AP Top 25 this week on the strength of a road win over then-No. 10 Florida State and a 56-0 rout of Duquesne last week. It’s the first time that the Eagles have been ranked since Nov. 11, 2018. The Tigers have become mainstays in the poll under Eli Drinkwitz, climbing three spots to No. 6 this week after opening the season with a second consecutive shutout. It is the first time Missouri has accomplished that feat since 1935.
KEY MATCHUP
Boston College QB Thomas Castellanos against the Missouri pass defense, which has been a big reason why the Tigers are leading the Football Bowl Subdivision in total defense, allowing 127 yards per game. Castellanos threw for 106 yards and two TDs while running for 73 yards and another score against Florida State, and he was 9 of 10 for 234 yards and four TDs while playing just part of the game against Duquesne.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Boston College: RB Treshaun Ward is at his third school in three years after spending four seasons at Florida State and last season at Kansas State. He has carried 20 times for 132 yards and a touchdown through two games this season.
Missouri: WR Luther Burden III played less than a half last week against Buffalo because of an illness, but he still had a TD run. The preseason All-American has gotten off to a slow start with just seven catches for 64 yards and a score.

Boston College had 563 yards total offense last week against Duquesne. That included 309 yards rushing with four players going over 50 yards apiece. … Eagles freshman WR Reed Harris had a 72-yard TD catch last week against the Dukes, the longest by a Boston College player in four years. … The Eagles are ranked the earliest they’ve been in a season since 2005, when they were No. 22 in the preseason poll. … Missouri has won 18 straight non-conference home games, tying the school record set from 2005-12. … The Tigers have not trailed at halftime in 14 consecutive regular-season games, the second-longest streak in school history behind an 18-game run from 1997-1999. … Missouri QB Brady Cook has 6,934 yards passing, moving him ahead of Blaine Gabbert for sixth in school history. He has at least 200 yards passing in eight straight games at Faurot Field. … Missouri has not allowed a touchdown in 185 minutes, 48 seconds, the longest streak for the Tigers since at least 1966.
