The Grand Rapids, Michigan-based company said it had net income of $2.10 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.73 per share.
The wood and materials provider for the construction industry posted revenue of $1.91 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.83 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $692.7 million, or $10.97 per share. Revenue was reported as $9.63 billion.
