The median early-career salary for graduates of the 14 four-year colleges and universities located in Greater Washington is $59,285, according to data from PayScale Inc.
The Seattle company has ranked the colleges and universities by the median salaries of their alumni. In the gallery above, we run down the local colleges and break out early-career pay, which PayScale defines as the median salary for a bachelor’s degree-holder with zero to five years’ experience.
The salary figures aren’t too surprising, as the more prestigious and highly rated universities general produce larger median salaries — though there is some reshuffling from the midcareer salaries list we showcased in September.
The University of Virginia ($69,800) and Virginia Tech ($67,900), which are growing their presences in Northern Virginia, would both place highly on our list.
