Bought, sold and on the market: Here are the latest pro athlete home sales, listings in Greater Washington

Whether they’re moving in, moving on or just moving, professional athletes buy and sell their fair share of Greater Washington’s high-end homes.

Like many buyers of luxury real estate, they have ample wish lists. Some are looking for green space, river views and some peace and quiet. Others look for city life in top-tier condo buildings. Wherever they choose, they’re always looking for some measure of privacy — and, ideally, proximity to practice facilities and airports that take them on the road.

Some end up renting their homes to their teammates, as was the case two years ago when Washington Wizard Bradley Beal, who was already looking to sell his home, instead rented it to CJ Miles, who had just joined the team. Beal later sold his McLean mansion to another notable name in the Greater Washington business world: Steve Salis, co-founder of &pizza and current CEO of Salis Holdings, which owns Ted’s Bulletin, Federalist Pig and other restaurants and ventures.
