Amazon.com Inc.’s grocery store rollout in Northern Virginia is expanding to Manassas, public documents show.
The company plans to take roughly 45,000 square feet of a former 104,629-square-foot Kmart at 7807 Sudley Road, part of Sudley Manor Square, according to plans and permit applications submitted to Prince William County. The Kmart had previously been demised into three spaces — the Amazon Fresh would be wedged between an AutoZone and a Sky Zone trampoline park.
One document, titled “Amazon Fresh,” lists a host of companies involved in the project, three of which have a “Mendel Team” specifically assigned to the store — Design Fabrications, Trane and Consolidated Electrical Distributors Inc. Mendel is Amazon’s code name for its supermarkets.
The shopping center is owned by Princeton Virginia LLC and managed by Bethesda-based Seneca Properties.
