Kurt Stout, longtime dealmaker in federal real estate, dies

Kurt Stout, an executive vice president at Colliers International and one of the most established brokers in Greater Washington’s federal real estate market, has died.

Colliers confirmed that Stout died without releasing further details, including cause of death. Stout led the commercial real estate firm’s national government practice group, including leasing, investment sales, finance, property and project management services. He joined Colliers in 2011 and, before that, spent 21 years at real estate brokerage Grubb & Ellis.

“Kurt was a beloved member of the Colliers D.C. family and one of the most highly esteemed professionals in the industry,” Matt Gannon, local market lead for Colliers, said in an emailed statement to the Washington Business Journal. “He will be remembered for his commitment to excellence and for serving as a mentor in our office and a role model in our community.
