WASHINGTON — The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a rape and abduction from a call they received on Saturday, Sept. 3, at around 2 p.m.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman, reported that an unknown man approached the victim while she was on lifeguard duty at a pool in the 200 block of S. Pickett Street.
She said the man brandished a firearm and raped her. She called for help after the man fled the scene.
Officials describe the suspect as a tall, thin white man in his mid-30s, with short hair and dark eyes.
He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light-colored jeans and a blue baseball cap at the time of the assault, authorities said.
