CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — The University of Virginia will participate in the broadcast of a town hall meeting on U.S.-China relations next week featuring former President Jimmy Carter.
The Daily Progress (http://bit.ly/1scRoFj) reports the university’s East Asia Center is one of 70 locations nationwide that will broadcast the Oct. 16 meeting, which will feature a live webcast and a question-and-answer session with Carter.
The meeting will cover issues such as security, trade, economics and the environment. It is being conducted by the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations and the Carter Center.
The webcast at U.Va.’s Nau Hall is free and open to the public.
