MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Marc Gasol scored 15 points and Tony Allen added 14 to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 112-72 preseason victory over Brazil’s Flamengo on Friday night.
The Grizzlies (2-3) also got 13 points from Quincy Pondexter and 12 from Courtney Lee in handing Flamengo the worst loss of its exhibition tour. Marcelinho Machado led Flamengo with 17 points and Marcus Vinicius had 14.
The game was tied early in the second quarter before the Grizzlies pulled away in the third to lead by 40 points. Memphis scored 20 consecutive points in the third quarter at one point to blow the game open.
Flamengo was forced into 20 turnovers in the opening 24 minutes that led to 29 Grizzlies’ points.
